What's the Van Tour 2012 about and how do I plan my Van Tour Europe?
A Van Tour around Europe is the best way to explore and experience our beautiful continent. You are in control of where you go and how fast you move.
You might have your fixed points like the running with the Bulls in Pamplona, La Tomatina and the Munich Octoberfest, things that you just have to see. However, as you go into exploration mode you will discover that there is so much to see away from the beaten tracks and hyperevents.
There are hundreds of great National Parks in all European countries. There is all sorts of outdoor activities in remote places public transport will never get you to. And if history is your thing, well, there is plenty of that around and most of it happened away from today's public transport hubs.

“The journey is the reward.”
Take time to discover some beautiful parts of Europe, attend some nice festivals, meet nice people
on your way around. We have listed some good sites for you to get your Van Tour 2012 planned.
Where to go?
Find a list on European festivals, a route planner with interesting touristic information on Europe to get a
first rough tour plan, a planner for bike and hiking trips in Europe as well as excellent information on the German country.
How to come to Europe?

How much will it cost?
Fuel and toll:
Diesel is between 1€ per l in Rumania and 1,45€ in the Netherlands. In a small van, count around 9l/100km, in a big motor home around 12l.
Some countries charge motorway tolls like i.e. France and Spain, others have some vignettes to put on your windscreen. But as you go on your pace you might be able to avoid those toll roads.
Living costs:
They vary a lot between countries. Food in Rumania will be a lot cheaper than in France or Spain, so it depends on how long you stay in some of the countries. But as you save on accommodation, train-, and bus tickets. For discount on entrance cards take an international student card along if you have.
Camping costs:
On a camp site count 15-20€ a night for a van and 2 people. There are lots of places where you can stay with a motor home for a low fee or even for free. Ask us for adress books and discount cards to
save on your budget!
